Use of Force Data Collection Training
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Training Instructors are pleased to announce a virtual training of the National Use-of-Force Data Collection on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
This will be a free virtual course on the Microsoft Teams platform and will be available to law enforcement personnel representing federal, tribal, state, county, city, university, and college agencies. Training will include a brief history and overview of the data collection and a live demonstration of the submission portal.
We ask that your UCR State Program handle sending this information to any/all agencies you would like to participate. When disseminating to agencies, please be sure to include the registration link below. Due to certain state requirements, some state UCR programs have opted out of allowing their agencies to attend.
Registration is OPEN now and will close at 11:45 p.m. on April 21 or when the class reaches 290 participants.
We recommend that agencies share a single login/computer, when possible, to allow for more registrants. If sharing a single login, only one person from a group will need to register and serve as the primary registrant. There is no FBI limit to the number of participants who may view the training from a shared login. For example, multiple participants may view the training in a conference room on a shared screen and would only need to register one person. All participants who attend this training will receive a certificate of completion.
